Mukanya Kude tends to grow in swampy areas in the Southern and Eastern Africa’s. It is a so called ‘Ubaluwa’ herb. This is the name associated with the plants of Southern Africa that are used to induce of ancestral spirits and opens minds to receive the messages of the ancestors.
Mukanya Kude is traditionally used by the Zulu as an ingredient of sacred root infusions. It is taken just before going to sleep, to aid in inducing spiritual dreams.
